The symptoms may be the same, but the bug isn't, for sure, because that bug
(and the fix) affected code which isn't included in the *BSD build.
The root cause was actually a Linux kernel bug, and we can be pretty sure
that an OpenBSD system is free of those!

Are you sure that 2.22 works on exactly the same machine? I ask because 
problems like this are frequently caused by firewall configurations 
which don't take into account that DHCP packets, especially during the 
start of the lease-aquisition process, are "strange".

There's only one known bug which might possibly cause the problem (it 
breaks some stuff on Mac OS X). It's a long shot, but I'll send you the 
lastest code off-list, just in case.
