Hello,

In a Dual Stack (IPv4/IPv6) Internet Home Gateway, the IPv6 addreses on the LAN can be configured by SLAAC, so no absolute need for a statefull DHCPv6 server.

But to configure IPv6 DNS server [RFC3646] for the hosts on the LAN, it is useful to have a stateless DHCPv6 server [RFC3736].

In this context, there is no leases to manage, only "Information-request", sent by a DHCPv6 client to request configuration parameters and "Reply", sent by a DHCPv6 server containing the requested configuration parameters.

Is there current plans to support in DNSmasq a stateless DHCPv6 server ?
