Further to my last reply, after looking at the code, changing this
behaviour is very difficult, but a good workaround would be to make

sql-master.fd.corp  CNAME sql-master.poz.fd.corp
sql-master.poz.fd.corp CNAME 1-sql.poz.fd.corp

That would cache fine (and chained CNAMES are perfectly legal.)
