And if your client such as dhclient starts from scratch such as might 
happen after installing a new system, you will find that the id will be 
different ... related but different .. and both will be related to the 
MAC address but not in a predictable way.

I have also tried using the host name for DHCPv6 fixed IPv6 address and 
that does not work any better.  Once you get them working, they will 
continue to work until something changes and you have to manually sync 
them again.  Frustrating.
