nameserver 127.0.0.1

This is so it will use it's own dnsmasq additions. It should then use the upstream DNS which is 192.168.0.1 (my router) right?

Also, DNS works fine with nameserver 192.168.0.1 on the server but then the server doesn't have access to the dnsmasq additions.

On Nov 8, 2007 6:54 PM,

I've got a server set up to do local hostname resolution on my network with dnsmasq. All the computers on the network can resolve each other's host names as well as all domain names just fine. The server itself has no dns though. So ping
google.com doesn't work yet it's still connected to the internet just fine. My config is attached.

/etc/dnsmasq-hosts contains all my local boxes
/etc/resolve-
upstream.conf
has the ip of my router which supplies dns resolves.

Anyone know what the problem might be?

Thanks,
--
Luke Hoersten
