[Dnsmasq-discuss] local dns lookup

when using linux i can use the host name of onother computer instead of
the ip.  for example ssh foo, or in a web broswer.  the local dns works
fine.   i noticed that a windows computer that doesnt always work, i think
i saw it work once in a web browser.  and on osx it didnt work.

why does linux work fine with dnsmasq and osx and windows do not all the
time ?
