[Dnsmasq-discuss] Mac OS X client not getting into the local DNS after DHCP request

Hello,

I'm using dnsmasq, supplied with my OpenWRT software. The
configuration is fairly decent, and works fine. I do have one problem
with it, Windows XP DHCP clients get their hostname into the DNS
without problems, but Mac OS X clients (10.4) don't.
I've tested around a bit with Ethereal on the line, and it appears Mac
OS X doesn't send a hostname at all, unless you provide a "DHCP Client
ID", the contents of this setting are given in option 61 of the DHCP
discover packet. This, however, does not end up to be a DNS request.
Is there an option in OS X or dnsmasq to enable this for OS X clients?

Thank you for your help,
Joost
