[Dnsmasq-discuss] Fwd: Need help accessing my modem through my router

Thanks for the response.  At least that possibly explains why 'launchmodem' doesn't work.  I do have Ubuntu on this notebook too so I'll try it through that OS to see if it behaves differently.
