Can 'addn-hosts' file include CNAME entries?

If so, this would enable my team to have all local dns records in one
file (or directory, in case of 'hostsdir') rather than splitting CNAME
directives into .conf files, and the A/AAAA records into 'addn-hosts'. A
"one file" approach helps a dns-network designer to have a "single view"
of everything (in said network), if they want it.
